CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a newly established company created to provide a full range of loan and real estate management services for one of Europe’s leading investors, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced, dynamic and suitably well-qualified Head of IT to be based in Nicosia.

Role Overview:
The IT Manager will be responsible for leading the development of the IT strategy and roadmap and ensure its integration with the organisation’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business objectives and plans, while managing the entire IT function and be accountable for engaging and on-boarding the respective business teams on the IT roadmap.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop a secure data, business application and technical architecture 'blueprint' for the organisation providing creative and innovative ideas to meet the business roadmap.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the organisation and maintain relationships with business leaders to develop a clear understanding of their needs and ensure it is underpinned by IT.
  • Prepare, gain acceptance and monitor annual IT budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled.
  • Develop and document an IT security strategy ensuring the business systems are secure and meet our regulatory and compliance obligations.
  • Establish an IT security awareness culture ensuring users understand their responsibility when using the systems.
  • Initiate and execute IT department plans and projects (new installations, removal, and modification of IT systems, services and resources) while performing a cost-benefit analysis.
  • Ensure projects achieve the desired outcome, on-time and meet both financial and business expectations with regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, processes and controls; monitor policies within scope of responsibility to ensure compliance from both the IT team and users.
  • Review and ensure the business is compliant with IT licenses.
  • Lead the development, management and support of the organisation’s secure data repositories and reporting systems ensuring accuracy and high availability.
  • Lead the development, management and support of the front and back office business applications.
  • Oversee the support of the organisation’s hardware infrastructure, networks, telephony and security while ensuring exceptional support is delivered to the users.
  • Oversee protection of systems via scheduled backups and lead the creation, updating and testing of the business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Oversee system maintenance updates/upgrades to the infrastructure, data and business applications ensuring minimal downtime with risk management and mitigation.
  • Manage, develop and mentor in-house IT talent.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors ensuring they are meeting their contractual obligations.
  • Manage the day to day activities of the 3rd party service desk ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Communicate events to stakeholders, IT teams and leadership.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • University degree in Management Information Systems or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in a related position within IT.
  • Progressive experience in complex organisations acting as a Chief Technology Officer/IT Senior Manager in a medium-sized to large professional services organisation.
  • Ability to engage non-technical people and develop a technology agenda.
  • Financial services experience is preferable.
  • Enterprise Cloud architecture experience and skills highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience with Public (Azure, AWS) and Private Cloud technology highly desirable.
  • A background in MS SQL, SSRS and SSIS with either local or Cloud based architecture is desirable.
  • An understanding and experience with data management and reporting design techniques and technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with Loan Management servicing applications will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Workflow Management applications will be beneficial.
  • Experience with configuring and managing Office 365 and SharePoint is highly desirable.
  • Experience with financial / accounting systems such as SageX3 will be beneficial.
  • Experience with cash management systems such as Kyriba will be beneficial.
  • 10 years’ experience managing Microsoft based systems, applications and services.
  • Experience in management, provision, monitoring of network and communications environments including topics like security, data storage, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals, servers, virtualization.
  • Strong (and up to date) knowledge of infrastructure requirements and operation: WAN, LAN, MPLS, VOIP, Windows OS 10, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MS Server 2012/2016, MS Office 365, MS Skype for Business, IIS, Terminal Server, Citrix, Hypervisor technologies, Storage technologies(SAN/NAS), Wi-Fi, AV/Anti-Spam technologies, Conferencing systems, Video conferencing systems, Mobile Device Management (MDM), VPN, Dual authentication.
  • Maintain high-level and detailed knowledge including industry best practices, evolving technologies and security threats.
  • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written, and highly effective communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and solutions.
  • Support and service orientation.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to develop high performing teams.
  • Commercial acumen and strategically-minded, but hands-on in approach.
